you already know i’m a passionate visual storyteller, but here’s some things you may or may not be able to find on my linkedin.
i’m a graduate of the university of vermont with a bachelors degree in public communication. i have a concentration in community media & journalism and a minor in applied design. now 23, i’ve spent the last year post-graduation doing freelance creative work, traveling across continents, and crossing some side guests off my bucket list…including working on a dude ranch in wyoming this past summer. a new horse girl, bartender, breakfast cook combo has been born!
i’m a patented inventor and co-founder of a women's health and education based nonprofit. it’s called WISSP. i’m incredibly passionate about the cause. i won a $20,000 contest sponsored by faherty & whalebone magazine for the organization. that award prompted my role to bring the organization to life through creative branding, video, and both meaningful and strategic outreach. i think this is where my love for visual storytelling really began.
i almost always have a camera in my hand, documenting, sharing, creating. i pride myself on being able to find beauty in everything. like sunlight hitting the backs of the seats on an airplane, or a little graffiti drawing on the call button to an apartment building, or appreciating the art itself that is people at museums. i see it, i document it. need proof? i have 85,000 photos on my phone. nostalgia is my biggest weakness.
traveling ignites my soul, but especially traveling “like a local.” i tend to choose the path with less footsteps more so than not. i’ll almost always choose a backroad over a highway, even if it takes longer to get to my final destination. i have a playlist for each section of a roadtrip. i have both apple music and spotify. i’m indecisive and i don’t like to miss out.
my favorite number is 7, which may explain my slight case of perfectionism. i’m a pisces, and a strongly aligned one at that. except, my intense need for organization may not fall under the pisces category. i dream big. if i have a vision, i’m determined to execute it. i’m a firm believer in strong aesthetics. a direct quote from a close friend is that i’m “a walking pinterest board.”
i’m a born and bred jersey girl. i’d be surprised if you’ve never met one…everyone knows at least one person from new jersey. we’re strong-willed and won’t back down without a fight. my roots definitely instilled in me a strong trait of determination. i’m a 2020 high school graduate…adaptability was non-negotiable.
i grew up playing at least two sports at a time. i’m pretty sure i’ve tried them all. i played lacrosse my first year of college before transferring to vermont. i then became a reformer pilates instructor. sports and physical activity taught me teamwork, leadership, and how to overcome barriers from a young age.
i’m a naturally curious person. i have a long list of passions and interests. storytelling allows me to dive into all of them. my degree allowed me to combine my curiosity and creativity with strong skills in strategy. i’d love to make a career rooted in the world of art that also ignites positive change.
like i said, i’m a firm believer in the power of storytelling.
